Blues Jays start season with 10-8 win over Rangers

(Toronto) Teoscar Hernández scored a three-run home run and then scored the winning goal for the Toronto Blue Jays, who came from behind to beat Texas Rangers 10-8 on Friday.

Danny Jansen confirmed the Queen City team’s victory with a home run in the eighth inning. The Blue Jays (1-0) won their home debut, their first since the 2019 season. The Blues Jays played the entire 2020 season and most of the 2021 campaign in the United States due to COVID-19.

Blue Jays starter José Berríos dropped out of four runs in the third inning and went out without being involved in the verdict.

Seven relief pitchers were on the mound for the Blue Jays. Adam Cimber inherited the victory while Jordan Romano made the save.

Mitch Garver’s two-run homer gave the Rangers (0-1) a 6-0 lead in the second inning. Brad Miller and Adolis Garcia hit individual home runs for the visitors.

Jon Gray knocked out four hitters but allowed three runs in four working innings for the Rangers. Dennis Santana, one of Rangers’ four substitute pitchers, saw the loss add to his record.
