(Chicago) The Chicago White Sox fired Executive Vice President Ken Williams and General Manager Rick Hahn on Tuesday.
Williams was in his 11thIt is season as vice president after serving as general manager for 12 seasons. Hahn had been the team’s general manager since October 2012.
The White Sox are quietly ending a miserable season. They were 49-76 in Tuesday’s game against the Seattle Mariners.
Chicago’s lineup made the playoffs in 2020 and 2021 before going 81-81 last year.
In the statement announcing the firings, the White Sox said they plan to have a new director of baseball operations in place by the end of the season.
