(LA) Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Julio Urias was arrested near BMO Stadium on Sunday, where Lionel Messi was playing an MLS game in front of many celebrities.
The Public Security of the Exhibition Park said that its officers arrested Urias around 11 pm. She declined to immediately reveal the nature of the allegations against the athlete. Details are expected to be released later on Monday.
Urias posted $50,000 bond and was released shortly before 5 am on Monday morning, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office.
Uriah is due to appear in court on September 27.
The 27-year-old Mexican was arrested in May 2019 for domestic violence. He was suspended for 20 games by Major League Baseball, but was not formally charged by Los Angeles prosecutors on the condition that he complete a 52-week domestic violence prevention program.
The Dodgers traveled to Miami on Monday for a series against the Marlins that is scheduled to begin on Tuesday. Urias would be on the mound for the last duel of this one, Thursday.

Uriah is 11-8 with a 4.60 ERA this season. He is playing under a one-year deal worth $14.25 million. He helped the Dodgers win the World Series at the end of the 2020 season, which was cut short by the COVID-19 pandemic.
