(Houston) Carlos Correa had three hits and Pablo López pitched seven scoreless innings, and the Minnesota Twins beat the Houston Astros, 6-2, in Game 2 of the American League Division Series.
The third game of the series will be played Tuesday in Minnesota. The series is now tied at 1-1.
Correa hit a double that produced a run for his team in the first inning. He added a two-run single in the fifth inning, making it 5-0 for his team.
In four playoff games this year, Correa has hit four times and driven in four runs, in four playoff games.
He calmed the Senators’ threat, with his fastball averaging 155.9 miles per hour.
Yordan Alvarez cut the deficit to 6-2 in the eighth inning.
Willi Castro homered from the start for the Twins, while Kyle Farmer hit a home run to left field off pitcher Framber Valdez. It was Farmer’s first home run of the playoffs, having gone 0 for 10 in eight preseason games.
