(New York) New York Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor underwent surgery to remove bone chips from his right elbow, the team announced Wednesday.

He is expected to return in time for the team’s spring training camp in mid-February.

The Mets said the team’s chief physician, D.R David Altchek, performed the surgery on Tuesday in New York.

Lindor, who will turn 30It is birthday next month, hit .254 with 31 home runs and 98 RBIs in his third campaign with the Mets.

The latter finished fourth in the National League East section with a 75–87 record.
