(Arlington) Major League Baseball will hold its 2025 All-Star Game in Atlanta, four years after moving it from Truist Park to Denver’s Coors Field over objections to changes to some voting rights laws in Georgia.
Major League Baseball Commissioner Rob Manfred made the announcement Thursday following an owners meeting.
Atlanta obtained the rights to host the 2021 All-Star Game in May 2019, but Major League Baseball moved it to April 2021, three months before the game was to be played.
Critics complained at the time that the voting rights changes were too restrictive. Manfred made the decision to move the All-Star Game and draft events from Atlanta after discussions individually with players and the Players Alliance, an organization of Black players formed after the death of George Floyd in 2020.
The 2024 All-Star Game will be held in Arlington, Texas, while the 2026 All-Star Game will be held in Philadelphia to celebrate 250It is anniversary of the signing of the United States Declaration of Independence.
