(Los Angeles) Pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto has agreed to a 12-year, $325 million contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers, according to multiple reports.
Yamamoto is expected to join fellow Japanese Shohei Ohtani with the Dodgers.
Earlier this month, the club signed Ohtani, a star hitter and hitter, to a 10-year, $700 million contract.
The Dodgers had not confirmed the Yamamoto deal Thursday night.
Yamamoto is a 25-year-old right-hander who made his mark with the Orix Buffaloes.
This season he was 16-1 with a 1.21 ERA. In 164 innings, he struck out 169 batters.
MLB.com and ESPN were among the media outlets that cited anonymous sources in reporting the deal.
