Vaughn’s name on the disabled list
(Chicago) The Chicago White Sox placed outfielder Andrew Vaughn on the 10-day disabled list Thursday with a right hand injury.
Vaughn hasn’t played since being hit by a pitch from Los Angeles Angels right-hander Mike Mayers last Friday. He’s hitting .283 with four home runs and 12 RBIs — a team record — in 16 games.
Vaughn, the third pick in the 2019 Major League Draft, hit .235 with 15 homers and 48 RBIs in his rookie season last year.
As a result, the White Sox called up infielder Danny Mendick from their club AAA Charlotte.
