(New York) Aaron Judge and the New York Yankees reached a one-year, $19 million settlement, avoiding an arbitration hearing scheduled for Friday.

The judge can add an additional $250,000 if he wins the season MVP and $250,000 for the World Series.

Judge is probably in the middle of his best season, averaging .304, 27 home runs and 53 RBIs in 68 games with the Major League-leading Yankees. He led the winning run on Thursday with a single in a 7-6 win over the Houston Astros.

Judge and the Yankees were scheduled for an arbitration hearing on Friday. No stats after 1er March was permissible, with the exception of contract and salary comparisons. This is the date that Major League Baseball and the players’ association reached an agreement that ended the lockdown.
