(Chicago) The White Sox discussed with the Major Leaguers the possibility of delaying their game against the Minnesota Twins after a gunman opened fire during a July 4th parade in suburban Chicago, killing at least six people.
After discussions with Major League Baseball and local officials, the White Sox greenlit a game that ended 6-3 in favor of the Twins, in 10 innings.
The fireworks display that would take place after the meeting was cancelled.
“Our hearts are with the Highland Park community,” the White Sox said in a pre-game statement.

The gunman wounded at least 30 people and thousands of bystanders, parents with prams and children on their bicycles fled in panic, police said.
Police arrested 22-year-old Robert Crimo III as a suspect.
