Issuf Sanon: “We will not let Estonians shoot three-pointers”
Issouf Sanon scored 6 points in the fight against England.
– First, please tell us how you felt after the injury?
– My injury was not very serious, but after I healed, I did almost nothing for 5-6 days. Before EuroBasket I had only two practice sessions and I lost some of the feeling of shooting, the feeling of interacting with the ball, which affects the completion of the attacks to some extent. So yes, the injury was not serious, but the results of the recovery affected my performance in the first game. But everything will be fine, you have to move on.
– Thanks to what did you manage to confidently defeat the British?
– The whole team did what we agreed on. We stuck to the plan and didn’t do anything stupid. In terms of quality, of course, it is difficult to evaluate our performance because we made a strong breakthrough and were ahead throughout the game. Future games will answer how we are prepared for the next opponents.
– Estonians seem to be a more organized team than England. What can you say about the next competitor?
“We will not let them run and score 3 each. It was clear that they wanted to play at high tempo in the match against the Italians. We will try to stop them in our match.
– How did you feel when you came to the first EuroBasket?
– I’m not really worried, but now there is a certain excitement and it is connected with my injury. Of course, a big responsibility, because we play not only for ourselves, but also for all residents of Ukraine. We do everything to show what it means to be Ukrainian. Yes, yes, this is the first tournament for me and I hope I have four minimum tournaments ahead of me.
