Denis LUKASHOV: “We are preparing to win the third victory”

Denis Lukashov talked about the Blue-Yellows’ winning game with the Estonian team (74:73) and admitted that the Ukrainian team is extremely determined to face the Italian team, the home team of the continental forum.

“We’re in challenge mode. Yes, it was a tough game against the Estonian national team. But we expected it. There are a lot of young basketball players who play very fast both offensively and defensively. It was a little difficult to come up with a game plan. But we didn’t give up and we got this win.

We are preparing for war with the Italian team. It will be very difficult as the opponents are playing at home. They have incredible support. About 10 thousand spectators come to each match. But we already played with them, we saw that we can beat them if we don’t make mistakes in defense first. We’re gearing up for the third victory.

It all depends on how we started this game. If we are in the game, if our game plan is implemented and there is good communication, these 10 thousand viewers will not be a problem. We’re all adults, we’ve all played in such conditions. It’s tough, but sometimes it’s even better when you upset the fans with your well-meaning shots or any good move. The Ukraine-Italy match will be played on Monday, September 5th at 22:00 Kyiv time. Currently the Ukrainian team is leading the group C table along with the Greek team. Both teams have won two of the two matches.
