HERUN: “Ukraine national team didn’t have a lot of features”
Volodymyr Gerun, 28, acknowledged the difficulties the Ukraine team faced in its duel with the Baltics, but said he was happy with the final result of the team’s second match at the European Championship.
“I’m happy with the result, but not very happy with the quality of the game. But we got ourselves into this situation. Hall was blamed, many people came to support the Estonians. They played like they were at home and they did a lot in the beginning.
We didn’t have much quality. We won at the request of the players. I am happy with my game. I could have played better somewhere, but the important thing is that we win. I hope we can improve our game.”
Recall that Ainars Bagatskis’ team will play their next match at EuroBasket 2022 against Italy on Monday, September 5th at 22:00 Kyiv time. Then the Ukrainians will play against Greece (September 6) and Croatia (September 8). The top four teams of the group will advance to the 1/8 finals.
