The killers of businessman Shabtai von Kalmanovich received prison terms from 18 to 22 years, RIA Novosti reports.

The meeting of the Moscow City Court was held on Tuesday 13 September.

The direct executor Bagaudin Kostoev was sentenced to 22 years of strict regime, his accomplices Ali Belkhoroev and Batyr Tumgoev received 20 and 18 years respectively. They were sentenced to serve their sentences in a strict regime colony.

All three were found guilty of killing Kalmanovich and attempting to kill his driver. Kalmanovich was killed on November 2, 2009, the attackers shot his Mercedes. The businessman died on the spot, but the driver managed to survive.

Under Kalmanovich, Spartak won the Euroleague three times. He was also the general manager of the Russian women’s team, which at that time won the silver of the European Championship.
