Immediately after the national team’s training session ahead of the game against Germany, Kostas Sloukas commented on what Greece must perform on the Mercedes-Benz Arena floor.

The national team will meet Germany on Tuesday (September 13, 9.30 p.m., ERT1, LIVE Sportish) against the background of qualifying for the semi-finals of the EuroBasket 2022, stressed that Greece will need concentration and luck.

Slouka’s statements:

For the game against Germany: “It’s clearly a difficult game, we see that there are surprises in the tournament. Germany will draw energy from their world in Berlin, they made it difficult for the tournament favorites. We also want luck with the first place step away from the medals”.

For the game against the Czech Republic: “Every game has its own story. The Czechs are a solid team that made things difficult for us. It was a tough win for us, it made us better. The goal is to get stronger every day.”

For Germany’s guards: “It’s crucial how we stop the opposing guards. And the Croatians had good goalscorers and the Italians the same tight team. The bet for us is our defense. When we have a good defense we get surprises, we find an open field Luck also plays a role in a game like this.”

Whether the national team has something new to show: “I don’t think he has anything special. The team has 12 equal players. Yesterday the xfactor was different from the other games, Laretzakis. Let’s be solid in defense and control the pace.”

For Germany: “They are a great team. I don’t want to refer to individual players, they have athletes with EuroLeague and NBA experience. We have to be focused for 40 minutes.”
