EuroBasket 2022: Mateus Ponitka “played” on SPORT24 with the rumors about Virtus Bologna’s interest
Mateusz Ponitka is ready to fight with all the strength he has left for Poland to take third place in EuroBasket 2022, he told Sportish, before “playing” with the rumors about Virtus Bologna’s interest in him .
He is the most influential player of EuroBasket 2022. Mateusz Ponitka has led Poland to the top four of the tournament, but at the same time rumors about Virtus Bologna’s interest are increasing.
A few minutes after the end of the semifinals with France, in which the Poles experienced the crash, Igor Milicic’s team boss spoke to Sportish and “played” with these rumors. He has a three-month contract at Reggio Emilia but knows his level is at least for the EuroLeague.
“We were killed by the French tonight and they killed us with their might. They knew we would struggle with our penetration and pick and roll and they beat us. It was very difficult for us to play against such a strong team, with so much talent, so much physique and so much experience. OK, we didn’t get the chance we wanted tonight, we’ll look for it on Sundaysaid Ponitka, who has 14 points, 5.8 rebounds, 6.3 assists, 1.5 steals and 17.6 rating points per 27.6 minutes.
The heart of the EuroBasket beats at Sportish. Stoiximan is a mission ally in Milan and Berlin, with plenty of options and dozens of specials bets on the top basketball event.
“We still have a chance to win something. We’ll see who we face on Sunday, we’ll see what we can do, but it won’t be easy. I don’t care if we play Germany or Spain because I know it’s going to be a tough game either way” added Ponitka, who played at Zenit last season.
“It’s unsettling. We achieved something great, okay, but when we lost by 10, 15, 20 points… 40 hurts. We will get more experience from this game, it’s not easy to play against these players. Half of them play in the NBA and the other half are at the top of the EuroLeague. We will do everything to win the medal. They saw the crowd tonight, even when we lost by a lot of points, they supported us in this historic win for the country“, explained the Pole and concluded his remarks with a comment on his future.
“On Monday I fly to Warsaw and on Tuesday to Izmir. On Thursday I fly to Bologna because Reggio Emilia is 40 minutes away‘ said Ponitka, and when Vassilis Skoundis insisted and told him that there were rumors that Virtus was preparing to take over, he replied: ‘I know but I will go to Bologna because Rezzo Emilia is 40 minutes away. I don’t know what to tell you, we’ll see“.
