DRABIKOVSKY: “We are planning to organize the Women’s Super League with 10-12 teams”
According to Vladimir Drabikovsky, the start of the combined women’s Super League is scheduled for the end of October.
“Unfortunately, with the outbreak of war, many girls went abroad, very few players remained, plus clubs have budgetary problems and some are in occupied territory or near a war zone. Therefore, we will have only one league and we expect 10-12 teams to play there.”
FBU Secretary General also answered the questions about holding the matches without spectators and noted that this decision was made by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, not by the FBU. It’s about the security issue,” Drabikovsky said.
As for the men’s championship, the championship is planned to be held in two classifications – 8-10 teams are expected to participate in the Super League, 10-12 teams are expected to participate in the second division. The start of the championship in the Super League will be held on October 20-21.
“Eight teams have already confirmed their participation in the Super League. We expect two more clubs to apply by the last September 23 – these are Dnipro and Khimik.
“Kharkiv Sokols” confirmed participation in the second division, Odessa did not give us a final answer, Ternopil, unfortunately, they will miss the championship due to financial problems – the head of the club took a “break” during the war, – added Drabikovsky.
