Sekulic heads the Slovenian national team
Slovenian head coach Aleksander Sekulich will remain in his position. As the head of the Slovenian Basketball Federation, Matej Jerzhavec admits, the organization is very unhappy with the result of the national team at the European Championship, but compliance with the contract is above all.
“Aleksander Sekulich has a contract with us until the end of next year. He is an excellent coach. I repeat, he has a contract. But that’s a normal expression. After championships like this, analysis is necessary. Even if they were champions, it was necessary. And now we’re sorry, we’re disappointed, ” admitted Yerzhavets.
In the 1/4 final stage of EuroBasket 2022, as you know, the Slovenian team lost to the Polish team (87:90) in Berlin and completed the next challenge.
