France captain Fournier: “We did not expect such a level from the Spanish national team”
Evan Fournier praised the strength of the Spanish national team, but also admitted that he did not expect to see them in the final game of the tournament.
“Obviously when I went to EuroBasket I didn’t think Spain would go this far in the tournament. Of course they weren’t favourites, but you can never delete them. Spain can always find a way to win and their system has been working successfully for years.
It’s the first year they have such a new roster and we didn’t expect such a level. “This once again proves their high level of play,” said Fournier.
The EuroBasket 2022 final between the teams of Spain and France will start today, Sunday, September 18 at 21:30. Previously, there will be a match for third place, where the teams of Germany and Poland will learn about the relationship.
