Note that Ponitka is the fourth player in history to have a triple-double at the European Championship. In 1993, a triple-double made the center of the Croatian national team Stojan Vrankovic, in 1995 – teammate Toni Kukoch, and in 2017 – Romanian Andrei Mandache.

“This is my first triple-double in my life. I didn’t think I would do it at EuroBasket. But I still don’t feel it. Now I’m thinking how we can miss the 20-point advantage in the game. But it’s still good that we got the victory and made it to the semi-finals,” said Ponitka after the game.
