EuroBasket MVP Willy Hernangometh, Giannis Antetokounmpo in top five
The Most Valuable Player award at EuroBasket 2022 went to Willy Hernangomet, the main center of new European champions Spain. Giannis Antetokounmpo is also in the top five.
THE Willy HernangomethSpain’s starting center, which returned to the top after the 2017 break, is the MVP of EuroBasket 2022, was announced on Sunday evening (18/01) after the final in Berlin and the 88-76 win over France.
The 28-year-old New Orleans Pelicans center (2/09) finished an amazing tournament with 19.4 points, 7.8 rebounds and 1.1 assists and was a catalyst up front. In the final, Willy had 14 points with 5/14 two-pointers and 8 rebounds (5 defensive, 3 offensive) and snatched the title Lorenzo Brown who was also amazing during this run from Furia Roja to the top.
At the same time, the (absent) John Antetokounmpo (29.3p, 8.8p, 4.7as, 1.5kg) was created together with Dennis Schrüder, Lorenzo Brown, Rudi Goeber and of course MVP Willy Hernangometh.
