EuroBasket 2022, Spain: Lorenzo Brown had an offer to play for the Croatia national team
A revelation about Lorenzo Brown and his connection to the Croatian national team was made by former international basketball player Mario Cassun in an interview he gave, saying the Spanish natural had an offer but the country’s federation didn’t agree.
Lorenzo Brown was one of the standout players at EuroBasket 2022 as his performances for Spain national team gave Sergio Scariolo’s side a huge boost and ‘topped’ his national team presence.
However, Brown was close to becoming the naturalized player of the Croatia national team, having been offered a few years ago to represent the country in international competitions, although the Croatian FA did not give the ‘green light’. This revelation was made by former Croatian national basketball player Mario Kasun in the podcast interview.
“Mrsic had offered Brown a place in the Croatia national team a few years ago, but the federation is now known for its decisions.” he said initially.
“I am satisfied with the presence of the team. Look at the Serbian team. They had a much better team, but they were eliminated in the same place as us. Greece was eliminated in the quarterfinals. Now everyone is playing basketball, look at Finland that has invested a lot,” he continued.
