Chemist President: “Prometheus has not taken off yet. And the Alchemist ceased to exist”

He said that especially the fans will see a club from the Odessa region in the Super League, but it will not be Khimik.
– Today I can say that the Yuzhnensk “Chemist” has ceased to exist for several reasons.
– But our region will not be without basketball – soon we will draw up a letter and surrender as a team of the Odessa region. The foundation of the team will be Odessa BİPA. Accordingly, the name of the team is planned – BIPA-Odessa region. Based on the results of the meetings in the district administration, the Odessa district administration took such a decision.
Partial funding has already been found, and we continue to seek sponsors. The Odessa region has always been considered a sports district, but now it so happened that in team sports actually only one football club remained. Therefore, it was decided to help build a basketball team. We hope everything will work out for us.
– Are you planning a team to play in the Super League or are you talking about the Major League?
– This is a Super League team. We used to pull the Major League without question with Khimik or BIPA, but now we’re talking about the Superleague team. At the moment, we are looking for sponsors by joint efforts, joining forces in Odessa, Yuzhny and other cities of the region.
– It is clear that your team is still in development, but do you have any idea about the coaching issue and the formation of the roster?
– Yes, we already have a certain understanding of the head coach of the team, there are players who are in Odessa, whose negotiations are ongoing. Contracts are not signed until the team is formed – I don’t want to name names.
– Most of the players who spent last season in the Khimik structure and the team’s coaches moved to Prometheus in the summer. But the other day, the head of the team announced his desire to refuse to participate in the national championship. What is your view on this situation?
– Officially “Prometheus” was not filmed. As far as I understand, there is no other information apart from the statement made by the president and the team on Facebook. My opinion: “Prometheus” will not be removed. Of course, there are issues that need to be resolved during the negotiation process between the club and FBU, they are being discussed.
But I know how he helped “Prometheus” during the formation of the Federation, then everything was not as smooth as it seemed. They’re great, they’ve improved so quickly, but now I find it wrong to say we’re good and you’re bad.
There is also the issue of children. In tough times, you probably need to think about domestic basketball and kids, not legionnaires and European cups. We do not know their plans, maybe they will want to create a foreign club on the basis of Prometheus, conditionally play in Latvia or Monaco. Then please. But if you represent Ukraine, you should also think about the future. Moreover, these are incomparable amounts.
We also went to meet Prometheus once, when several of our players signed contracts. They had no right to do that then, they had to pay us compensation. Then we had contracts with all these players. This is a gross violation of the rules. But we did not raise this issue, we will meet with them. As we were asked at the time, the club is in the process of being formed, so it needs help.
And even now, when Prometheus has recruited a group of young players and coaches from us, you can call us. Of course our club is on its knees, but you can give our players a minimum compensation to fix some existential issues.
We are grateful to the men, so we do not want to interfere with their development, God bless them. So the club made a detachment and they broke up. We were once in similar situations and needed to solve such problems – and even in difficult times for the club we always at least made up for something.
– Are you ready to take players back from your club if Vladimir Dubinsky doesn’t change his mind? “Prometheus»who played last season “Pharmacist»?
– Of course we are ready, there is not even a question here.

“Summing up the results of the calendar year, I want to congratulate all our fans on the upcoming New Year and Merry Christmas, wish our favorite team peace and good victories! “Kharkov Falcons” are the first players of this Super League season, so second place at the moment is a good result.
There are a few points we would like to emphasize separately. First of all, seven players from last season’s active squad won the Premier League together, but five of them never played in the Super League. Therefore, the experience they gained in the first half of this season is almost priceless. Secondly, Kharkiv Falcons are one of the two champion teams that did not play a single match at home. It’s very difficult when you’re not playing for your fans, you’re training in one gym, and you’re playing in a different gym every time, even on home tours. In these conditions, 4 defeats in 13 matches is a good result.
One of the most negative moments of this year was not being able to participate in the last four of the Ukrainian Cup. Unfortunately, we were a little unlucky in the draw. After an emotionally difficult and physically exhausting match with Krivbass, we did not have enough strength for the next match against Kiev-Basket in the quarter-finals. Unfortunately, our performances in the cup are over, but now we will be able to focus all our efforts on the championship.
Our main problem now is injuries. We have five injured players, three of whom have serious injuries that require a long recovery period. We’re about to get off to a very tough start to the new calendar season because the Falcons will be playing basketball six weekends in a row, which means six road trips with no rest time. If we could count on all twelve players in the squad at the beginning of the season, there will no longer be such a rotation. Therefore, all the responsibility and burden will fall on the players in the rankings. I hope they get over their injuries in the new year, recover from their injuries as soon as possible, return to work and help their beloved club properly represent Kharkiv in the Super League.
Despite the holidays, we have training scheduled almost seven days a week. “I really hope that by January 10 we will be a combat-ready team that can solve serious problems.”

Mikhailyuk repeated his personal best from the NBA regular season in the match against Memphis
Ukrainian basketball player who plays for Utah Jazz Svyatoslav Mikhayyuk He repeated his personal best in starts in the NBA regular season.
This happened 128:137 in the game between the Utah Jazz and the Memphis Grizzlies on the night of December 23-24.
In this match, Mikhailyuk stayed on the field for 22 minutes and during this time he recorded 9 points (4/4 free throws, 1/4 two-point, 1/5 three-pointers), 4 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals, 1 turnover and 1 foul.
This match was Mikhailyuk’s 27th match as a starter this season. So, at the end of December, Svyatoslav repeated his career record in terms of starts, missing only one game against Dallas.
Previously, Mikhailiuk managed to play as a starter in many matches only in the 2019/20 season as part of the Detroit Pistons.
