There will be no group. Budivelnik lost to Brose Bamberg in the Champions League qualifiers.
Pre-match predictions were quite optimistic. Credits were given to “Brose Bamberg”, it was noted that it was clearly not “Norrköping” but they believed “Budivelnik” would at least make it to the qualifying final.
In the previous game, Kiev’s opponents relied on three-pointers. The Germans decided to act similarly, but the accuracy was much higher – 12 of the first 15 points were thrown from behind the arc. The Ukrainian team also tried to keep up, but the percentage of sales was much lower. Therefore, points were taken in the first quarter due to the counterattack of Goodwin and company, but they still went to the time-out with a score of 19:18 in favor of Bamberg.

And finally the game started in the second quarter. Goodwin mustered up his courage, Grant backed him up. The rest didn’t lag behind on offense, either, and on defense, Bobrov managed to keep his opponents from getting under his basket and faced off on the offensive. As a result – 34:41 before the break.
After the break, the Germans came out incredibly charged. They then managed to hit a three-pointer with accuracy and execute free throws. We activated Berheinmeskel, still not very obvious, but their efforts were clearly not enough neither this quarter nor the next. Two seconds before the end of regular time the score was 80:82 in our favor and it would have been 80:83 if we had managed to score not one free throw but two goals against the same Berheinmeskel. The loss of concentration gave the Germans a gift – 82:82, overtime.

And in the last five minutes, our team looked tired, while Brose Bamberg looked rather optimistic. If the people of Kyiv still managed to score 94:94 with a few seconds left in the game and after conceding a goal from distance, they did not have enough time and energy to win it back.
97:94 – The Champions League group was far away, but Budivelnik will not be able to go there…
