In a delightful retelling of the famous hug with Giannis Antetokounmpo in the Mercedes Benz Arena dressing room, Italy national team coach Gianmarco Posseco revealed the brief exchange between them and also revealed the response the Greek freak gave him.
Gianmarco Ponceco’s embrace of Giannis Antetokounmpo immediately after Italy’s victory over Serbia in the EuroBasket 2022 round of 16 went viral immediately and eventually became the viral image of the event.
Even today, a few days later, it is the focus of discussion. The Italian selector made a comeback when asked during the event, revealing what was said the moment it fell into the Greek geek’s trained hands.
“I had been sent off a few minutes ago and as I left I saw Giannis’ brother. I cried. I think he knew I was having a very bad quarter.
