Prometheus Technical Director Ronen Ginzburg shared his expectations from the team’s first match in the Latvian-Estonian Basketball League.

– On Saturday, Prometheus will make its debut in the Latvian-Estonian Basketball League. You played the last control game a week ago. Is the team ready for the season?

– The team is ready for the first game and probably not ready for the whole season yet. We need 2-3 more weeks. But all is well, we have to start sometime, so I don’t see anything wrong with starting now.

– What can you say about the first opponent of the Ogre? Is this a good competitor to start the championship?

We don’t know enough about this league. I just started watching them yesterday. Not a bad team. I need to watch more to get to know him better. However, I believe we should focus primarily on ourselves right now. First of all we have to be ready and then we have to look at the opponent.

– “Prometheus” played friendly matches, including teams from Latvia – “University of Latvia” and “Ventspils”. You won both fights by a large margin (approximately 40 points). Is the team much stronger than their LEBL rivals?

– If we’re in good shape, we should win these kinds of games. About the league. I still don’t know all the competitors well enough. I know VEF and Kalev are really good teams. How it will be, we’ll see.

– What do you expect from the LEBL season in general?

– It’s hard to say right now. But of course we will try to win every match. I don’t believe we won all the games, but we will try to do that in every game. It is also important to come to the end of the regular season well prepared for the playoffs.

– Are all the players ready to play on Saturday? Is anyone hurt?

– Everyone’s ready. We have two more training sessions before the game, I hope nothing will change. But now everyone is ready to go to the site. No major injuries or anything like that.
