NBA Results of the Night: The Wizards face the Heat, stay on top of the East

The Heat demonstrated their strength in Washington with a 121-100 win over the Wizards to remain at the top of the East. The Raptors defeated Charlotte, the Jazz defeated the Knicks.

The Heat showed who’s boss in Washington (very) early on, escaping the points by a double-digit margin and clinching a comfortable 100-121 win over the Wizards. This improved their record to 35-20 (best in the west) and showed excellent physical condition.

Bam Adebayo was the top gainer with 21 points, Jimmy Butler added 19 points and Gabe Vincent added 16 points for a Miami who even reached +35.

With the Wizards, Corey Kispert had 20 points and Aaron Holiday had 14 points.

The Raptors keep rising and the Hornets… fall. Toronto was excellent once again, easily beating Charlotte 101-116 and eventually reaching +23. It now counts 6 wins in a row, at the same time the Hornets count 5 losses in a row.

Pascal Shiakam and Gary Trent each had 24 points for the winners, with Fred VanVlit and Oji Anunobi each adding 20 points.

For the Hornets, who lost early to Gordon Hayward through injury, Miles Bridges had 25 points and Terry Rosier had 20 points.

They fought but they didn’t win. The Jazz were twice at -12 against the Knicks, but in the end a breakout in the 4th third was enough (single result 31-18) prevail with 113-104 and achieve the three wins in a row.

Donovan Mitchell led the winners with 32 points, followed by Bojan Bogdanovic with 20 points and Mike Conley with 18 points (but with 5/17 shots).

For the Knicks, Julius Randle had 30 points, RJ Barrett had 23 points, and Mitchell Robinson had 19 points and 21 rebounds.
