EAKN Agios Kosmas: “The goal is to complete the work on Petros Kapagerov by the end of 2024”
The process of starting the reconstruction of the basketball hall “Petros Kapagerov” is in the final stages, according to the administration of EAKN Agios Kosmas, to which the stadium belongs. The goal is for the capacity to reach 1,500 seats and to be ready by the end of 2024.
The Court of Auditors approved the legitimacy of the tender for the reconstruction of the basketball hall “Petros Kapagerov”, and therefore only the signing of contracts remains to start work.
The budget of the project is 8,500,000 euros and the funding is provided by the Attica Region under the supervision of the Technical Works Directorate of the Piraeus Regional Unit.
The goal of the management of EAKN Agios Kosmas, to which the stadium belongs, is the capacity to reach 1,500 seats and be ready by the end of 2024.
In addition, work has already begun on the necessary repairs and maintenance of the facilities at Agios Kosmas, the repair and energetic renovation of the building in the marina and securing the entrances to the facilities in Mikrolimano.
In addition, at the “Petros Kapagerov” swimming pool in Piraeus, the competition for the installation of a new electronic scoreboard according to international standards is underway, while the replacement of energy-intensive old technology luminaires with LED luminaires based on European requirements for suitable lighting of swimming pools has started.
Finally, in 2022, the supply of starters that will be connected to the new scoreboard will be completed, as well as the renovation of the dressing rooms and the change of perimeter of the windows.
