NBA: The Sacramento Kings traded an athlete who can’t play at home
Justin Holiday is not vaccinated, he has no intention of being vaccinated, and the Kings will have no right to use him at their home games until restrictions are relaxed in Sacramento.
The news of the exchange of Domantas Samponis caused quite a stir on Tuesday evening (February 8). The Lithuanian has left Indianapolis, he will continue his career in Sacramento, but two other players will continue with him, Jeremy Lamp and Justin Holliday, who will not have the right to play in the Kings’ home games due to his election!
The 32-year-old (who turns 33 on April 5), who has averaged 10.4 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.7 assists per 29.6 minutes over the past five seasons, with 44.7% on two points and 37 .2% scored three points remains unvaccinated against Covid -19 and as he said a few days ago he has no intention of changing his mind. Sacramento is one of the cities that requires athletes to be vaccinated for home games, so Holiday is not eligible.
The Kings obviously knew it, but they had to accept the Pacers’ offer to save $6 million from the Holiday contract for the current season and $6.3 million for next to put Domandas Samponis in their potential.
