Coach Prometheus: “We have to improve our situation from game to game”
Prometheus Technical Director Ronen Ginzburg He shared his expectations from the start of the team in the Eurocup.
– On October 12, Prometheus will make its Eurocup debut. Is the team ready to start? What can you say about the situation of our players?
– Of course, like other teams, we are not 100% ready. However, this is normal for the Eurocup as it is a long tournament. We have to improve our conditioning from game to game. I will say that our physical condition is acceptable, but not one hundred percent. But of course we will be ready to play.
– What can you say about our first competitor in the Eurocup Lithuanian “Litkabelis”?
– This is a team with great traditions, including Eurocup and Champions League experience. Lithuanian basketball has always been very good basketball. And “Litkabelis” is the first or second team of the league as of today. And last season they took second place in the Lithuanian championship. This is a good and really strong competitor, which of course we respect.
– First of all, what would you like to see from your players in this match?
– I want to see the fight from the first minute to the last minute. I want players to stick to the game plan. We have new basketball players who have not played such matches. For the first game of this level, we need to properly set up our newcomers. This is not simple. However, we will adjust them to win.
– Please tell us what tasks you have set for the team in this tournament.
– You know that Eurocup is a league where you have a chance to win this tournament if you don’t finish the regular season in the last two places in the group. Now we find ourselves trying to win more games and 5-7 in April. We have made it our duty not to fall under the line. And in the playoffs, anything can happen, one game decides everything, anyone can win, anyone can lose.
