Olympiacos advance to EuroLeague groups, 73-54 in Sepsi
The incredible Gustafsson demolished Sepsi with 29 points and 13 rebounds to help Olympiacos (73-54) win in the women’s EuroLeague qualifier.
The first hurdle on the way to the EuroLeague groups turned out to be low for the Olympiakos women’s basketball team, which defeated Sepsi 73:54 on Tuesday evening (10.11.) in the FMP hall Zeleznik in Belgrade.
Martin Zibartz’s team had an epic evening from Megan Gustafsson, who scored 29 points (13/19 2 points, 3/3 shots), collected 13 rebounds, gave three assists, blocked two shots and cleaned the lead in 33 minutes and with above.
Finishing the match with 62% in the two-point range, the Red-Whites had 23 assists for 16 errors, while Maria Jespersen (18 points) and Hadija Docia Cave (14 points, 14 rebounds) were the two standouts of the Romanian team.
The next opponent for Olympiacos is Red Star, on Thursday evening (13/10) at 10:30 p.m. From the group of three, the team that finishes first qualifies. So if the Serbs beat Sepsi, the game will be the final the day after tomorrow.
