Basketball
We started with a win. Prometheus confidently outstripped Litkabelis
Prometheus’ performance in the Latvian-Estonian League is not as interesting as it should be in the opening match of the Eurocup. The Slobozhanians have not yet played in this tournament – they have appeared in other tournaments during the previous two seasons (remember that last year’s Champions League performances had to be stopped due to the full-scale invasion of Russia).
By all estimates, Prometheus should have won with confidence. And from the beginning of the match, our basketball players started to do everything to make these predictions come true. Agada, whom no one could stop, was extremely active, Clavell was the team’s top scorer, Stephens had both crazy dunks and regular dunks (make sure to watch if you haven’t seen it)… A lead remained pretty stable, plus or minus ten points in favor of Prometheus (except in the third quarter – then Lithuanians practically caught their nominal owner, who believed too much in their own power).
Of the minuses, it is worth noting the very low execution of shots from the back of the bow. True, both teams were guilty of this.
82:71 – a confident victory. Ginzburg’s wards will play the next match against Bursaspor on October 26.
