Following the government’s decision not to remove the 10% occupancy stadiums and 1,000 spectator limit, the EEC is working to make an exception for the Basketball Cup Final Four and bring the occupancy rate for the event to 50% raise.

The program for the Final Four of the Basketball Cup (February 18/20) is now known, but the “thorn” with the committee’s proposal not to lift the 10 percent occupancy limit of the courts (and a limit of 1,000 fans) is still valid. However, the EWG hopes to overcome this hurdle.

After Vangelis Liolios made it clear that he wanted the Final Four to be a celebration and herald a new era for Greek basketball, the EWG sought to have the Expert Committee make an exception for this event only and lift the relevant restriction. for the fullness of the pitches.

The goal of the Hellenic Federation is to increase the occupancy rate to 50% so that even more people can be on the pitch.

As a reminder, the stadium “Dyo Aorakia” has a capacity of 5,222 seats, so with the existing data, 522 fans can enter. If an OK is given at 50% fullness, the number of viewers increases to 2,611.
