Grief in the family of Aris, an actor and longtime president of the Yellow and Blacks, Theofilos Mitroudis, died at the age of 69.

Breathing his last at the age of 69 on Friday (2/11) in a hospital in Larissa Theofilos Mitroudis, longtime president and important factor of Mars during the period of the “yellow-black” empire in Greek basketball.

Mitroudis was born on November 23, 1953 in Thessaloniki, where he also grew up. He was an active participant in the Mars community from 1984 to 1994 and has served as President of the Basketball Division since 1992.

In his time, Aris won the first European Cup in its history, the Cup Winners’ Cup in Turin, thanks to the victory over Turkey’s Efes. He was the factor that brought Roy Tarpley to Greece but also the one who broke up with Nikos Galis before going to Panathinaikos. A year later, Panagiotis Giannakis also left the company.

For what he lived as an agent of Mars, Theofilos Mitroudis wrote a book entitled: “The Empire: The Rise and Fall of the Far Side of the Moon.”

After undergoing surgery at the center, Mitroudis also had a heart problem that proved insurmountable.
