The joy of winning in Lyon was tempered for Dimitris Priftis when he thought they slipped Panathinaikos twice earlier in the season. The Greens coach spoke about these games on Friday evening.

Dimitris Priftis was delighted with the result and the way his team fought after beating Villeurbanne in Lyon. He explained that the Greens could have more away wins, talked about Nemanja Nedovic’s cramps and the continuation in Greece and Europe.

Details of Dimitris Priftis’ statements:

We expected a difficult game and that’s what happened. We started well, we implemented our plan in defense and attack. Villeurbanne then brought energy into defence, but we were cool and found good chances. Congratulations to my athletes, we continue our efforts in Europe and in national competitions.

We fight in every game, we lost one in Munich, one in Vitoria and Anantolou Efes for a basket. We could have won, we did it tonight in a very competitive league. We’re struggling this year, we’ve had bad results away from home, but there are good people in the team. There are new players on this squad at this level, we’re motivated, we’re trying, it’s a constant struggle on the ground. Nedovic is fine, he had a cramp, we hope so“.
