Russian basketball player Sergei Monya returned to Zenit, according to the press service of the St. Petersburg club.
The 39-year-old striker will play under the 64th number.
– I am very happy to return to Zenit and to the city where I had so many positive emotions last season. Everything happened very quickly – we started a conversation and quickly agreed. I packed my things and took off. I hope to get back in optimal condition as soon as possible and help the team repeat the success of the 2021/22 season,” Monya said.
Monya already played for Zenit from March to June 2022 and helped the club to become the champion of the VTB United League for the first time.
During his career, Monya played for Avtodor Saratov, Moscow CSKA and Dynamo, Khimki near Moscow, and also in the NBA for Portland and Sacramento. As part of the Russian national team, he won the bronze medal at the 2012 Olympic Games in London.
