Despite Doncic’s 37 points, the Mavericks managed to lose with half the Pelicans losing
The Dallas Mavericks left New Orleans empty-handed, losing 113-111 to the Pelicans without Ingram, Williamson and Jones.
No Brandon Ingram, no Zion Williamson, no Herbert Jones. And yet, the Pelicans won 113-111 against the Dallas Mavericks after Luka Doncic’s three-point attempt missed the target in the Finals.
In general, the Slovenian guard, despite being by far the game’s top scorer with 37 points, shot from perimeter with very low accuracy rates (only 2/13 threes).
The match was decided in the last shot, but the trouble began in the first period when the Mavericks conceded 40 points.
Big star for the winners, who let 8 of 9 players play double digits, was Trey Murphy, who scored 22 points without missing a shot (4/4 2-pointers, 4/4 3-pointers, 2/2 field goal) . . . CJ McCollum had a double-double with 14 points and 11 assists.
