Bartzokas: “If we have the wrong approach at Valencia, like at Monaco, we will pay for it”
In the approach that Olympiacos should have against Valencia on the 6th matchday of the EuroLeague (April 11th, 9:00 p.m., Novasports Prime and LIVE from Sportish) so that the game does not end like the one with Giorgos Bartzokas was in Monaco.
Olympiacos host Valencia (11/04, 21:00, Novasports Prime and LIVE by Sportish) on matchday 6 of the EuroLeague with the aim of recovering from their first defeat of the season after Monaco left with a pink match report from Faliro last week was. Giorgos Bartzokas sounded the alarm and described the bats as a difficult team.
In detail, the Greek technician said: “Every EuroLeague squad has quality and of course Valencia does too. They have very experienced players who have been playing together for years and they have added two American guards who control and direct the game, who are very aggressive on the basket.
Essentially, it has a corps of experienced players who know how to play good basketball and lead any team that underestimates them into trouble. They shoot the ball well, they have a three from D’s ‘5’Umbljevic, they are good at transitioning, running fast and generally attacking early without much movement of the ball.
They are a difficult team, classic Spanish, and to say every time that every Euroleague game is difficult is trivial. We all have to understand that if we take the wrong approach, like we did at Monaco, we will pay for it.”.
Whether the preparation was different after the first loss of the year against Monaco: “Basically there is a process. We do individual meetings, we do team meetings, we push the team in training. We had the opportunity to do two strong training sessions with Lavrio after the game.
Complacency is a problem, especially when you win games easily like we did with Lavrio. Our concern is that this does not exist. We all understand the difficulty of organization.
I believe and hope that we will approach this very demanding game with great concentration. I believe that even with our people on our side, if we’re serious, we’ll win.”
