Giannis Antetokounmpo and Milwaukee made history in gold letters in Minnesota
An incredible performance by the Bucks in Minnesota and a win over the mighty Timberwolves (115-102). The Milwaukee team, which had the best start in its 55-year history in the NBA, was 8-0. Holiday is unimaginable, Antetokounmpo triple-double.
After a six-game home streak, it was time for the Bucks to hit the streets. The Milwaukee team traveled to nearby Minneapolis to take on this year’s powerful Timberwolves, defeating them too (115-102) and making the best start in its 55-year NBA history.
The 2021 champions have improved to 8-0 (6-0 home and 2-0 a), remain the only undefeated in the league and show no inclination to stop, especially now that they are filling stadiums with their own fans . You read well! The Bucks were playing on what might have been a divided field, as became evident in the third period when the chant “Bobby Bobby” covered everything and everyone at Target Center.
Giannis Antetokounmpo recorded his first triple-double this year and the 30th of his ten-year career by clearing everyone in front of him in the fourth third. Naz Reed made the mistake of blocking a shot and then the Greek freak took everyone by storm, putting on an unimaginable spectacle of shots, spikes, spin moves, three-pointers, everything imaginable. . Incredible Jrue Holiday who found a rhythm and plays great basketball, the Bucks set the bar very high.
The Timberwolves fell to 4-5 (3-3 h and 1-2 a) showing once again that the Karl-Anthony Towns-Rudy Gober duo isn’t working out the way they envisioned it when defeating the French by the Jazz takeovers. Towns filled his stats and tried as hard as he could, Anthony Edwards was again the player Milwaukee couldn’t hold, but beyond that McDaniels, Gobber, Russell offered nothing special and the bench was too weak to put Wolves in difficult play times.
Next game for the Bucks early Sunday (11/6) at 2:00 a.m. against Alexei Pokushevsky’s Oklahoma City Thunder at the Fiserv Forum. Three away games at Hawks, Thunder, Spurs follow.
John’s account
With Towns – Gobber in front of him, you’d expect the Greek Freak to enter the match with…carefulness. He wasn’t, he was just remarkably balanced. He drove to the basket, hit the first 3-pointer, did a great job on both the rebound and the create and was 7/5/4 in 9 minutes!
He let the game slide without blackmail, he let Holiday and Portis enjoy it, and when the Bucks needed him, he was there. A Naz Reed block set it on fire, and Minnesota was out of luck from there. Antetokounmpo hammered the Wolves with fury and left the center of the goal in triumph. And with a very interesting story.

The race
Carter and Allen went into the match with a lead, Giannis of course wasn’t afraid of Gober and the 5-12 in the 3′ showed how determined the Bucks were for the record. Antetokounmpo scored seven points with his first 3-pointer, Holiday made it to 13:22 mid-half and Carter got another long-range shot to make it 13:25 as their team had the support of many fans who are now… everywhere, everywhere, everywhere. From 17-30, the Timberwolves went on a 9-2 run to pull forward thanks to Towns feeling better on the ground without Gobber, but the quarter belonged to the Stags.
With Giannis unmatched in rebounds and creation, the Bucks rose +14 (26-40) early in the second period. The hosts responded with a 9-4 run to close the gap again, but without getting any further. Rookie Marjon Beauchamp hit his second 3-pointer to make it 45-54, Milwaukee led by halftime (54-61) and did so, with Antetokounmpo receiving just five shots and three fouls from the absent Rudy Gobert. The Stags only scored 14 points on the racquet, but they made 3 points, scored 20 points on their bench and had nine more than their opponent’s errors.
With just under three minutes left, the Bucks extended their lead again in the second half (56:69) before Lopez hit a 3 from the front to make it 58:74 and the Timberwolves completely lost their composure. Holliday and Portis teamed for 62-80, Jrue also fouled for 64-83 and after a skirmish between Portis and Towns the crowd booed the Bucks’ big man. Even if the champion of 2021 played away! Antetokounmpo had found a magical way of balancing creation and execution, assisting Portis and then meeting Gombert to take it to 79-94 in a truly heartwarming performance.
Edwards and Reed cut it to eight (89-97) early in the fourth on their fine defense, only to be cut by Giannis with 1/2 shots, an unlikely nail, 1/2 shots and a 3-pointer that did sent difference at 13. The second foul sent him to the bench just before halfway through the fourth quarter, Budenholzer showed patience and composure and his players cleaned up with their usual ease in a really tough, demanding away game.
