LeBron: “For a number of years, umpires have been telling me they missed fouls on me”
LeBron James revealed in his statements that in recent years several referees have reported to him after the end of the game that they had not called the fouls committed against him, telling him that they had made a mistake.
The Lakers have been on the decline since the start of the season and now sit 2-7 after losing to the Cavaliers. At the same time, however, LeBron James brought another topic to the table: fouls that don’t count in his favor.
Speaking to the media after the game against the Cavs, James made a minor attack on the umpires, explaining that in recent years more and more people have been telling him that they… missed the whistle for fouls committed against were committed and were not charged.
“In the last game I got hit, knocked down a couple of times and at halftime the referees came up to me and told me they… got away with it. That’s something I’ve been told time and time again over the past few years, they just missed a few whistles.” LeBron said, expressing his grievance at the treatment he is receiving from the umpires.
It’s a fact that James doesn’t usually relate to the referees, so his placement is certainly interesting. For the record: LeBron is recording 4.9 shots per game this season, the lowest tally of his career as he’s never dropped below 5.7 shots per game, which happened twice: 2019-20 and 2020-21, again with the Lakers jersey.
