Maccabi – Hapoel Tel Aviv 80-90: Sfeiropoulos’ team eliminated from the last cup

Hapoel Tel Aviv beat Maccabi out of the cup final and prevailed 90-80 in the semifinals in a derby match in Tel Aviv.

Giannis Sfeiropoulos’ Maccabi Tel Aviv was ruled out of the Cup final in Israel after being left out by a 90-80 defeat by compatriot Hapoel in the semifinals. The game was a derby between the two Tel Aviv teams, but in the end Hapoel was the one who smiled and qualified for the grand final.

This was the third time Hapoel had beaten Maccabi this year, the latter being the most bitter for Sfeiropoulos’ side, which meant disqualification from the cup final.

Leading the winners was Jay Cowan Brown with 30 points while Maccabi missed Nanali and Williams. The first goal scorer was the “Team of the People”. Scotty Wilbekin with 23 points, Evans with 16.
