Big loss in Atlanta for the Bucks from Antetokounmpo, who bowed for the first time of the season
Bad night, bad performance, heavy loss for the Milwaukee Bucks, who were beaten by the Hawks (117-98) in Atlanta and fell to 9-1. Trae Young didn’t play, Giannis Antetokounmpo quit at 25.
All good things come to an end. The same goes for the Bucks’ unbeaten run, who were beaten 117-98 by the Hawks early on Tuesday (November 8) in Atlanta, who were playing without their big star Trae Young.
At 9-1 in Milwaukee (7-0 home and 2-1 a), with Giannis Antetokounmpo having a strange night and ruining his team’s excellent start. The Bucks hit 8 of 11 3-pointers in the first period and 3 of 20 in the next two, with Jrue Holiday (8 turnovers) twisting his ankle early in the fourth and Mike Budenholzer settling for the result. The Bucks are awaiting the return of the injured and most notably Pat Connaughton – Khris Middleton as the Cleveland Cavaliers (8-1) chase them to the East’s lead.
Atalanta climbed to 7-3 (4-1 home and 3-2 away) defeated a few days ago at the Fiserv Forum. Dejude Marie led the way, rookie AJ Griffin did things and wonders coming off the bench, Justin Holiday – Onyeka Okongu followed and the Hawks showed again why they are considered one of the best teams in the Eastern Conference. 50-40 bat points, 13-3 surprise points, 59-33 spare points, 5-22 opponent foul points, 19-7 second chance points (offensive rebounding).
Next game for the Bucks in the early hours of Thursday (03:00) against the Thunder, this time in Oklahoma City.
John’s account
He went into the match with a nice reverse finish, followed up with two misses from mid-range and caught his knee, committed two quick offensive fouls and was sent to the bench early. He was very important in the second half, he was a roadblock in some stages of the third where he scored nine points, but overall the game didn’t go the way he wanted, even when he filled his stats. Sure the two quick fouls slowed him down, sure he was made tough enough by Okongu’s enthusiasm and toughness, sure he’ll soon forget this match.

The race
With Allen and Lopez making the first shots from the perimeter, the Bucks opened the game well but saw Giannis “pat” his left knee after two shots from middle range. Antetokounmpo scored four points in the 8:12 shoot-out, but conceded two quick offensive fouls and had to be on the bench after just under four minutes.
Allen and Lopez continued their execution, going 5-of-5 to 3 points for 8-21 in the fifth minute, with McMillan claiming his first timeout and his team responding with an 8-2 run to cut it to seven (16-). 23). Dejude Marie did a lot of damage with his swims and layups, Portis did more with his long shots for 22-33, Holliday hit the Bucks’ eighth 3-pointer for 22-36, and the first period belonged entirely to Milwaukee.
Giannis returned to start the second quarter with a goal not to commit the third foul that would have had him fired for the rest of the first half. He made a foul shot to make it 31-39, but a 12-4 Hawks run three minutes helped them close the gap to three (37-40).
Holiday and Lopez each had a 3-pointer to make it 43-49 mid-period, Giannis looked more at creation to avoid wearing down in situations… layups, but Milwaukee wasn’t as effective of that Periphery, resulting in the home side turning the game into a derby around half-time. However, without maintaining control, despite finding 23 points from their substitutes and scoring twice as many at bat (32-16) as the Bucks.
Eventually, the home side and control came together and led well (74-67) midway through the third period, with Collins and Griffin becoming the supports Marie needed. The Bucks completed a poor 12 minutes (37-22) without a shot from the touchline (0/8) and put themselves in a difficult situation. Not because they lost at nine (89:80), but because they lost what they had built up early, including their composure and focus.
An unlikely follow-up dunk by Okongo early in the fourth (91-80) set the court on fire as the Bucks played poor basketball and Holiday saw his right ankle roll off with 10:45 left. Five points followed from another Holiday, Justin, to make it 100-85 in the 39th minute, he wrote the 106-86 that decided the match. Realizing the match was lost, Budenholzer drew Giannis to the bench, timed out at 42′ with the difference of 22 and let the players end the evening.

Flu outbreak in one of Europe’s best clubs. Championship match will be postponed
Greek “Panathinaikos” The team faced serious personnel problems due to the flu epidemic.
Eight players and three members of the coaching staff were immediately diagnosed with influenza A with severe symptoms.
Panathinaikos has shown good form in recent matches, but flu A has spread to Greece and has affected the team, which will most likely lead to the postponement of the Greek championship match against Maroussi, scheduled for December 27.
The problem is not only related to the championship match, but also to the derby against Olympiacos in the Euroleague, which is scheduled for January 2, as the epidemic prevents the team’s normal preparations.
Since many players have severe symptoms, no one can say for sure how the disease will progress and when everyone will be healthy.
The names of the sick people have not been disclosed at this time.
