A confident victory over a stranger. Ukraine team beat Netherlands
Ukraine national basketball team held another qualifying match for the World Championship. Our team met with the Dutchman from outside the L group.
The Blue-Yellows found themselves in a tough tournament situation where they had no right to kick off. He also had to make significant changes to Ainars Bagatskis’ coaching roster, compared to the call-up squad for previous matches of the qualifying tournament and EuroBasket.
Even at the beginning of the match, the Ukrainians confirmed their favorite status and made a breakthrough with a score of 11:0. The break gave some relief to the site owners and they managed to close the gap. The basketball players of our team played well apart from the rebounds: the Blue-Yellows had problems with this component.

In the second quarter, the Dutch continued to resist for a while, but then the Ukrainians began to rapidly increase their advantage. Sidorov took over the sniper functions, Kravtsov hit the ring with spectacular dunks, ours flew behind the bow. The teams went to the big break with the advantage of “+24” in favor of the Ukraine team.
In the third quarter, Bagatskis’ guards increased the lead to 30 points. But some slack (or conscious power economy) from our basketball players has allowed “orange” to recover from humiliating defeat.
