Tyler Dorsey for Olympiakos: ‘I wanted a bigger role than last year, I don’t feel any pressure’
Tyler Dorsey spoke to the EuroLeague website about enjoying Greece, the hot weather and his role at Olympiakos.
At age 26 (born February 18), Tyler Dorsey is in the third season of his career in Europe and continues to fight to return to the NBA, where he played after his varsity days with the Atlanta Hawks and Memphis Grizzlies played from Oregon. For now, however, he only thinks about reaching the playoffs with Olympiakos, because he hasn’t experienced this special postseason atmosphere in his five years of professional career.
“I want to be there, I want to feel the atmosphere, the intensity of these games. Unfortunately my first year in Europe was interrupted because of the coronavirus, I think we had a playoff team in Maccabi. In the second year we didn’t succeed, now it’s time for me to live it‘ the expatriate security guard said on the EuroLeague website, continuing: ‘Every person’s journey is different, I wanted a bigger role than last year because I want to get better every year. I want to put pressure on my shoulders. Pressure is not pressure for me. I just play the game, I accept my role. I’m happy here and I’m happy because some people gave me this role. I am blessed to have this great opportunity“.
Dorsey was enthusiastic about Greece, his attacks caused a stir among Olympiacos friends: “She is beautiful! I’m by the sea, it doesn’t get any better than that. I’ve been lucky enough to play in great places with great weather like Tel Aviv and Greece, it’s great. The hot weather is haunting me from Los Angeles, I love it these days. Here the way of life is different, slower, love it, food is great, busy. It’s a beautiful place and I’m enjoying it so farThe foreign security guard has signed a one-year contract.
