An incredible performance by Anthony Hickey in Astana’s home win over Lokomotiv Kuban for the VTB League. The 180 cm American wrote triple-doubles at forty!
At 29, Anthony Hickey is now a European basketball gyrologist. And on Tuesday afternoon (February 15) he showed once again that he is a real fun player. Some will know him from his tenures at Apollon Patras, Rethymno and Larissa, some will certainly know him from his brilliant performance in Astana’s home win against Lokomotiv Kuban (87-83).
The 1.80-foot point guard posted 43 points (10/15 two points, 7/13 three points, 2/3 shots), amassed 10 rebounds, shared 11 assists, stole two balls, made a block and won five fouls to win collect 50 (!) points in the rating system just a few days after his impressive performance against CSKA in Moscow. In that game he had 26 points (8/15 two points, 3/7 three points, 1/2 shots), 6 rebounds, 7 assists, 2 steals and seven fouls won.
Hiki had been playing in Rethymnon for less than 10,000 euros a month. He played in Gdynia, Poland, in Cyprus with AEK Larnaca and the Paralimni Youth Union, in Germany with Frankfurt and in Romania with Volundari.
