Final Four – Basketball Cup: Agravanis wants to defeat Panathinaikos
Prometheus’ Dimitris Agravanis will want total concentration against Panathinaikos for the overtake and qualification for the Greek Cup final.
Only a few days left until the start of the Men’s Cup Final Four, in which Dimitris Agravanis will reach the semi-finals with Panathinaikos on Friday (February 18, 5:00 p.m.). For a semi-final in which the Prometheus striker wants to excel so that the Patras team will qualify for the final on Sunday (20/2 at 17:00) where they will lift the trophy against Olympiakos or AEK.
Dimitris Agravanis’ interview in detail on the EEC site:
In your opinion, how big is the challenge for your team to take part in the final four of the cup?
“For us, every game we play lately is a challenge. We all have to give 100% and stick together for 40 minutes in the game, especially when it comes to a tournament where a title like this year’s Greek Cup Final Four is at stake. We want to achieve another breakthrough and for that we need to be fully focused and determined.“.
What do you think, where will the semifinals on Friday be counted?
“Knockout games are judged more on passion, mood and self-denial to win than on tactics and system. Sure, the coach will organize the right plans for the game, but as I said, the most important thing is to have a high level of concentration and energy to win the game in the end.“.
What would a possible cup win mean for your team on Sunday?
“I never like to think like that. You have to work hard during the game to overcome Panathinaikos obstacle. I can’t see far, nor can I dream of a cup. I only see the first game, we will go step by step. When the Final Four is over, we’ll see what we’ve done and we’ll cash in accordingly“.
How do you see the fact that the cup is being held in the form of the Final Four for the first time in 18 years?
“It’s another move by the new government that improves the product called Greek basketball. I started and again I am happy and proud of what is happening in Greek basketball. Final 4 is action in the right direction. May there be good cooperation of all teams, so that people enjoy such celebrations for sports and we, the athletes, offer them nice duels on the floor“.
