“At today’s (February 15) meeting of the ESAKE Board of Directors, it was decided to convene an Extraordinary General Assembly of the Association on Monday, March 14th.
The General Assembly will meet to make proposals to the EEC and the State for the necessary changes and improvements for the best possible outcome and to ensure the smooth running of the Championship after the first year of application of the Evaluation Regulations – pre-authorization by ESAKE.
Also, in today’s meeting (15.2.) the final positions of ESAKE for the consultation with the EWG for the new regulation on transfers and registrations of athletes and the restructuring of the categories were formed.
Unanimously the members of the Board of Directors approved the position of ESAKE the agreement with the objectives of restructuring the national categories and in particular with the gradual reduction in the number of teams in connection with the control of the conditions of participation and with the aim of increasing competitiveness and profitability the national championships.
ESAKE proposes that the Basket League Championship be held through the gradual reduction of teams in the 2024-25 season with the participation of 12 OEMs and one team be demoted and promoted.“.
