Men’s Basketball Hellenic Cup: These are the Elite League teams competing for a place in the Final Eight

Iraklis defeated Panerythraikos and advanced to the 3rd phase of the Greek Men’s Basketball Cup to now fight for his place in the Final Eight in which the teams will play 1-7 in the final of the first round of the Basket League.

Iraklis defeated Panerithraikos (74-68) in Ivanofeio on Wednesday afternoon (11/16) and advanced to the 3rd phase of the Hellenic Men’s Basketball Cup where they will fight for the ticket sent in an informal Final Four of the amateur teams in first Final Eight in the history of the sport and the country’s institution.

The Thessaloniki team relied on Guthright (24 points) – Taylor (31 points) to defeat the New Eritrea team. In the 3rd phase, Panionios (won 85-83 against Amyntas) and Papagos (20-0, without a game in Eleftheroupoli) also qualified, while there is still a match to be played between Ayandas and FEA on 23/11 in Evomos.

The four teams then battle it out in two ‘semi-finals’, with the winners advancing to the ‘finals’ of Stage 3. The team that can survive this game advances to the Final Eight, where they meet the teams ranked 1-7 in the final of the first round of the Basket League. The position of the winner of the 3rd phase will be determined by drawing lots with the teams of the Basket League. As the EEC announcement states, the position it will take will be shifted down in the other groups. That is, if it is drawn at position 5, the Basket League 5th team will automatically advance to position 6.
