Sfeiropoulos: ‘I’m leaving the team I love knowing I’ve embraced their philosophy’
Giannis Sfeiropoulos sent a private message via the club’s website following Maccabi’s sacking, saying the team will always have a special place in his heart.
Giannis Sfeiropoulos is a former Maccabi who is broadcasting his own message via the team’s official website after being removed from the club after four years of association. As he mentioned, he only made friends in Maccabi and faithfully served the team’s philosophy.
Giannis Sfeiropoulos’ message in detail:
“Once Maccabi, forever Maccabi!
I would especially like to thank the owners of Maccabi for giving me the opportunity to coach this historic club and the players I have coached over the past four years for their collaboration. I would also like to thank the management, the coaches, the staff and the people in club administration for the excellent relationship we had. I only made friends in Maccabi.
Finally, I thank each and every one of the Maccabi fans for the love they have shown me. These moments will always have a special place in my heart.
Unfortunately, last time we didn’t have the image we wanted, although we tried to get out of the difficult situation. I am leaving the team I love knowing that over the past four years I have embraced the team philosophy and fighting spirit that characterizes the club. I have worked with respect, pride and professionalism.
Good luck to everyone at Maccabi throughout the team. “Let’s go to Maccabi.”
