Toliopoulos in a role… Steph Curry: The incredible shot chart with Peristeri and the analysis of his 38th
Stefanos Makris uses InStat Scout to analyze Lefteris Toliopoulos’ incredible performance and his 38th goal against Peristeri. The shot chart that brings back memories… Steph Curry and the way he scored his points.
Vassilis Toliopoulos put on an incredible show in Aris’ 92-90 Thriller loss to Peristeri. The 26-year-old guard had a career night, putting on one of the greatest performances by a Greek player in the history of professional basketball in our country.
The Aris guard finished the game with 38 points on 4/6 2-pointers, 9/15 3-pointers, 3/4 shots, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, 4 steals and 2 turnovers in 38 minutes of action, destroying everything in his away, though his looks went wrong. And his shot chart from the game is reminiscent – no exaggeration – of Steph Curry. Here it is:

Score in every way
Two things distinguish Vassilis Toliopoulos: 1. He is equally effective with and without the ball in his hands. 2. He is not aware of the danger, he will not be afraid to shoot regardless of the conditions. Both appeared (also) in the match against Peristeri.
According to InStat Scout, Toliopoulos scored the following points:
Pick and Roll where he grabbed a screen and shot: 14 points in 6 possessions (2.33 points per possession)
catch and shoot (shooting from a standing position): 9 points for 5 possessions (1.8 points per possession)
isolation (One on One): 2 points in 4 possessions (0.5 points per possession)
hands off (hand-to-hand pass): 1 point for 2 possessions (0.5 points per possession)
Off the screen (coming from the screen): 3 points in 2 possessions (1.5 points per possession)
catch and drive (Ball acceptance and attempt after dribbling): 5 points for 2 possessions (2.5 points per possession)
crossing (sudden situation): 2 points for 1 possession (2 points per possession)
It was a unique show from Toliopoulos, who has had one career season so far and is averaging 19.8 points, 4 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 2 steals on 48.5% 3-point shooting (4/8.3 attempts per game) scored. in 29 minutes of action.
These numbers are not common. I’m not sure he can keep them at those heights. However, the main thing in his case is that he now looks more mature than ever and ready to step up. Whether he can prove that he can remain consistent in his performance remains to be seen. When that happens, only good things will happen.
